General Policies

  • Accepted forms of payment at time of service: cash or credit. Choose carefully, all sales are final.
  • We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason.
  • Under no conditions will we provide services to anyone under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
  • Please eat a meal before arriving for your new piercing.
  • Masks are optional for staff and customers.
  • Appointments are advised for all visits, including jewelry shopping and checkups. Walk ins can be accommodated when time permits.
  • If you’re any kind of cold or flu sick, stay home. Receiving services while ill will negatively effect healing and place your artist in a position to lose work if they catch whatever you’ve got. We’re not asking you to believe Covid is/was real, we’re just looking for common courtesy.

Sterilization

We are proud to say, The Queen Bee Tattoo Parlour is a primarily disposable studio. This means that not only are needles, inks, and supplies single service but tattoo tubes and most piercing tools are as well! For items that do not come pre-sterile from the manufacturer such as body piercing jewelry, we use a state of the art sterilization, which is called a StatimClave. This sterilization process does not require the use of pouches and allows your piercer to maintain “point of process” sterilization for these items. For the couple of piercing tools that are simply not available in a disposable version we utilize a vigorous processing system that employs two full sterilization cycles. All artists of The Queen Bee Tattoo Parlour are trained in universal precautions to protect both themselves and their clientele.

Children in the Studio

Children are great! If you are a parent we wish you all the best in your family life! We do however ask that you find childcare for your kids rather than bring them in. While we make every effort to keep discussions and images of a delicate nature in private areas, the studio environment is very much adult in nature. MINOR CHILDREN ARE ONLY ALLOWED IN THE STUDIO when receiving a piercing and accompanied by a parent or guardian. No other minors, children or infants are allowed.

Our Policy on Pregnancy and Nursing

We will not perform any piercing on any pregnant person. We will however remove jewelry or replace it with flexible retainers. For nursing mothers, we will be happy to perform any piercing other than nipples once you have reached the 3 month mark of feeding. We will perform nipple piercing only after all nursing has ceased and milk has dried up completely.

Placement

Jewelry and placement options are selected to fit each persons’ individual anatomy. It is our great regret that many piercers lack either the experience or the training to assess people’s anatomy on an individual basis. This will often result in unattractive, virtually unhealable piercings. Starting the process with a bad or inappropriate placement can be a truly miserable experience.

Jewelry

We provide jewelry made from the purest, most well-manufactured materials available. Each material used has been painstakingly researched.

Technique

All piercer skills are technically advanced. All procedures are performed with great speed and accuracy using the most effective and efficient methods. Often the client doesn’t even realize that s/he has already received the piercing.

Appointments

We are working mostly by appointment – same day appointments are usually available and walk ups too when time permits. Eat within 4 hours of coming and bring your photo ID (showing you are over 18). We are only allowing people receiving services in the studio at this time. The only exception being for minors.

Our Policy on Piercing Minors

Without exception, the parent or legal guardian must be present with the minor to sign the release form as well as in the room during the piercing.

• Starting at age 7: Ear Lobes (Ages 7-10 must have a consultation in order to book)

• Starting at age 16: Ear Cartilage (outer Helix only), Eyebrow, Navel, Nostril, Septum
